My friend Dave Nielsen, a former Army Ranger and Delta Force Operator is back on the podcast. Dave co-hosts a brand new show called the Christology Podcast. After leaving the Army, he got a theology and biblical studies degree. We discussed the difficulty of Delta's selection and how his experience in dealing with adversity growing up in Detroit helped him make it through.

Dave talked about the culture of servant leadership at Delta Force which plays a crucial role in the unit's success. We touched on his time as a dog handler and his dog Pepper. There are many nuances of operating in a Special Mission Unit that, includes going after bomb makers and dealing with enemies who wear suicide vest. We touched on Hostage Rescue Operations, Faith, Israel, his time in the Ranger Regiment, and much more. Tune in.

GRP 135-Wherever you go, go with all your heart: A Special Missions Operator at war - We have a very special guest on for this week’s podcast. Joining me on today's episode is retired, Sergeant Major Jamey Caldwell. SGM Caldwell began his career as an Army Ranger before he went to selection to join the Army’s Special Missions Unit. On September 11th, 2001 he was forward deployed overseas. Within the coming weeks and months, his unit would be amongst the very first Americans to enter into Afghanistan.

They were tasked with killing Osama Bin Laden. Bin Laden was tracked to the Tora Bora cave complex which is apart of the Spin Ghar mountain range in eastern Afghanistan. Caldwell would deploy into combat 14 times over the following 14 years in the war against terrorism. We discussed selection, leadership, mindset, and many other topics. Enjoy. You can learn about the battle of Tora Bora from the Special Missions commander on the ground "Dalton Fury" in his book "Kill Bin Laden". GRP 123-Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that- The Guardian Group: Countering Child Sex Trafficking

On for the podcast in our latest episode are retired Special Missions Lieutenant Colonel Jeff Tiegs, and the founder of the Guardian Group Jeff Keith. LT Tiegs became aware of the crime of child sex trafficking while disrupting terrorist networks overseas.

After a brief stint in Law Enforcement and the Air Force Special Operation’s, Jeff Keith continued to serve but as a Pastor. Jeff, in his travels overseas learned of the problem and returned to the United States intending to scale it down. We discussed the scope of the crime, ways that the hotel industry and communities can deny pimps and traffickers grounds to operate, and much more. Enjoy.

The Modern Drawbridge Survey is intended to help you better understand the complexities of sex trafficking in the U.S. and how communities can intervene and potentially disrupt the exploitation cycle. The concept is grounded in previous research by William J. Ryan and Judith H. Katz. Guardian Group has been presenting this dilemma to groups across the country for the past year.  See the link below:
